Season 2 Episode 4Heading into week two, several Houston Area teams continued to roll and picked up wins. Also are major shift in the top ten in the Texas State Rankings as the Eagles of Atascocita went up to North Texas and halted a home win streak that has stood since the Kyler Murray era. Marc, last week thought the Atascocita squad had a good chance to go into Allen and come away with a win and the Eagles pulled it off. Quarterback Gavin Session had a big game for a second straight week. Session accounted for over 400 yards of total offense. Senior wideout Chase Sowell continues to give defenses fits. Sowell nearly eclipsed the 200 yard mark, making acrobatic catches to bring the Eagles back from a 10-0 deficit at Allen Eagle Stadium. Allen hadn’t lost a regular season game since 2012, a streak that came to an abrupt end at the hands of Session and the Atascocita Eagles. Two historic football teams in HISD seem to be getting back on track to start the 2021 season. The Washington Eagles and Jack Yates Lions both had big wins in week two. Washington, which in the late 80’s and early 90’s , as well as Yates, were two proud programs. The Eagles for a big win over Northbrook and Yates dominated rival Madison in a 45-7 win to improve to 1-1. Marc also took a look at five senior quarterbacks in the Houston area , that are making an impact for the teams, who should have an impact on the playoff picture down the road.
